Continuous Flow Blending System

Blending Nitrox using a Continuous Flow Blending System is the fastest and easiest way of blending 22% to 40% Enriched Air Nitrox at a dive Centre Level, without having to worry about filling exclusively oxygen clean tanks. The principle is to add the extra Oxygen required for the mix before the compressor input, without ever having any mix over 40% Oxygen going through the compressor. You achieve this by plugging the Oxygen outlet to a Nitrox Stick inlet, and the Nitrox Stick outlet to the compressor. As soon as the compressor starts, it creates a depression in the Nitrox Stick that immediately sucks air through its top, preventing any mix above 40% Oxygen to arrive to the Compressor inlet. To obtain the perfect mix, you just have to regulate the flow at the oxygen tank outlet. Partial Pressure Blending System

However, for any mix containing Helium (Heliox, Heliair, Hypoxic or Normoxic Trimix) or for any mix containing more than 40% Oxygen, the Nitrox Stick continuous flow blending system is not sufficient anymore. That is the time where TecEvolution uses an oxygen clean partial pressure blending system. A partial pressure blending system is the most simple and cheapest blending system available, however it is far slower and more complicated to use (usage of partial pressure blending systems requires special gas blender training). It simply consists in an extra filter, a oxygen clean Digital Pressure Gauge with a non Return Valve, and an oxygen clean filling whip. The Principle is to plug the whip on the tank to fill (it must be oxygen cleaned if the system is used with Oxygen), and the pressure gauge with non return valve directly on the Oxygen or Helium Tank, and to let the pressure in both tank equilibrate. When the desired pressure in the destination cylinder is reached, you simply close the helium or Oxygen Tank, and then, if it is the desired blend is anything else than pure oxygen, plug the filter on the tank to fill to keep it oxygen cleaned and top up with air.
